The lawyer I use for my business recommends that I review/update all my ongoing contracts I have with my clients on a yearly basis, something I have always ignored as I saw it as nothing more than a way for him to bill me more hours.

However, recently I experienced a situation similar to that above where one of my existing clients had their company switch from a sold proprietorship to a partnership and the new partner expected me to pay double what I was paying before claiming that I should pay more because I was getting twice as much consultation!

Needless to say, from now on I'm going to take my lawyer's advice and update or at least review all my ongoing contracts each January.
