Private Mediation

Private Mediation Services

You are a small business and you cannot afford litigation. You want to maintain the business relationship- the client, the customer- but need to resolve the issue.

Can Mediation help me?

Mediation is a voluntary process in which two or more parties involved in a dispute work with an impartial party to generate their own solutions in settling their conflict.

  • Decisions are kept private & confidential
  • Lower cost than litigation
  • Mediators are attorneys
  • Preserve the business relationship

Sample mediations:

  • Two sisters own a web design business for ten years.  They started it in their 20′s and it has been successful with the sisters splitting the work among the two of them. However, one of the sisters has a new opportunity and wants to leave the business, but wants to paid for her portion of the business (50%).  The other sister wants to keep the business going, and they never wrote an agreement and what would happen if one of them wanted to leave.  Through mediation the sisters can avoid costly litigation, and remain sisters, finding an amicable agreement which meets both of their needs.
  • Two people enter into an informal subleasing arrangement.  It is not working out, and money is owed to the sublandlord.  The subtenant feels like the room they are renting is too small for the rental price.  With mediation, the subleasing agreement is altered and both parties walk away happy.
